Gin Quiche

I know this one sound odd and I’ll have try this recipe again to get the ingredients right but we both though it was an amazing culinary delight. The addition of the gin played a trick to the tongue but the smooth and creamy mixture made the gin taste disappear!

1 frozen pie shell
Two or three bacon strips
Two cloves of garlic
Some cream cheese . . . maybe it was a quarter or a half cup
About a cup at the most grated Swiss cheese
Three eggs
A bit of milk . . . maybe a quarter of a cup
A dash of salt and pepper
Two shots of Gin
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  2. Dice up the bacon and cook over medium heat until done then trough in the chopped garlic and remove the pan from the heat source.
  3. Dice up the cream cheese and place in the bottom of the pie shell.
  4. Beat up the eggs and assault the eggs with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Pour the mixture into the pie shell
  6. Bake the dish for about 15 minutes or until the eggs rise across the pie.
  7. Let cool for about 10 to 15 minutes and serve.

Notes: Next time I will try to pre brown the pie crust as I didn’t think it cooked at the same rate as the eggs. Most likely I’ll put the next pie crust under the broiler to brown.

I am already thinking of additional spices like paprika, nutmeg or fresh basil and of course three shots of gin! Stay tuned for the next recipe coming in a few weeks!
